From PeeWee football to college baseball, or soccer, or swimming, or even kaber tossing (I know...what the heck is kaber tossing?), parents and friends love to see faces and bodies in ACTION. Sure there's the team photo suitable for a 3" button you give your aunt Hilde, but how do you get the awesome action photo that makes you the envy of all your fellow parents? I show you how to get "The Shot" that makes your coaches glad to see you at games, creates a sense of appreciation from your kids (and who doesn't want that?), and will make you everyone's favorite person, with a camera, at any game.
I know that everyone thinks they want that perfect photograph, you know the one that makes them look like Angelina Jolie or Paul Newman (on a good day). The problem is ... None of us walk around with a gang of professional (big budget) photographers and their lighting crews, so we will mostly have to struggle through life trusting in, and using, what God gave us ... what's Candid and Real. Street, or Event, Photography, is mostly a better look for us anyway because it brings along with it something no professional portrait could ever bring ... a Story! I have always been a believer in "you look more beautiful and real in a candid image than you do in a staged and artificially lit portrait. Really, how many selfies can you actually look at anyway? Let me show you what to look for and how to shoot it without stressing over a cease-and-desist letter.
I absolutely love nature photography. No, it's not the earth tone landscapes, cows in a field or the glows of reds and oranges at sunset. It's the depth of objects as they dance together. I am wowed by birds in flight and the elegance of the action and movement of nature. Have you ever wished you could capture seagulls or pelicans as they blow by a wave that crashes on a rock? THAT is what I want when I shoot nature. I am willing to pay the price for what I want because someone that isn't willing to do that will ultimately come up and call me lucky. BTW, the price to be paid is good for you as well, it's ... PATIENCE!
In our 140 character culture, it's a very high price, indeed. That said, patience is wasted without a plan. I can show you how to make a plan that works.
As easy as 818-800-2592. This call is free (no charge to meet each other) and find out what your specific photography shooting desires are as well as your level of expertise. No question is too basic. The goal is to become a better shooter in whatever style you are interested in.
I am a big fan of online classrooms. At first everything will be just you and me and our computers, using Zoom (an online application that allows us to share my screen) to see your work and evaluate where you are and where you want to go. After the initial free online meet session, I will give you an assignment. You will shoot for the lesson plan and submit your top six images to me via email. I will then create a student folder and place the six images in it to be used in our first lesson. Zoom will allow us to view, in real time, together your images and discuss them in relation to what you are trying to accomplish. Easy-Peasy! The evaluation will lend itself to the next lesson plan. For a time target, I shoot for 1 hour lessons. If I don't have lesson planned for exactly the next hour, it isn't uncommon that we can do longer (no extra charge for me gabbing too much). BTW, usually 6 images is a good number or we'll likely not get through them all.
I charge $40 for a lesson, and 3 Lessons for $100 if you pre-order.
Have you ever gotten sucked into those infomercial traps where they give testimonials for 30 minutes before telling you HOW STINKIN MUCH the item you're interested in costs? I hate that stuff. I also, hate fluff pieces, so if we work together you will hear from me honestly. I really want you to be successful.
If you want to do a group event like night shooting on Sunset or Hollywood boulevards, or Venice beach on a weekend. We can get some group action going and meet before the shooting. We also can have a group Zoom where we can discuss the successes or frustrations of the event. Since this isn't really a preplanning kind of a thing for this page, we will need to play it by ear.
That said, I am willing to do some clinics in shooting soccer or baseball games with those interested in learning to shoot sports. Same criteria as the event meet-up, as far as pricing is concerned.
